As far as servers go, you don't think much of them. They generally just sit in the background and do what they are supposed to. One usually doesn't think of flashy GUI interfaces when it comes to servers either. They generally are fairly straight forward and basic and in the case of Windows, haven't change a whole lot in the past several years, until now with Windows Server 8 and its Metro interface, which most likely will be largely ignored however, at least initially.

We have been tinkering around with Windows 8 for a couple of weeks now and while we are still not found of the Metro UI (especially on the desktop) there are things that do make it an appealing operating system. Still there are some things (as there always are) that will cause issues. Back when Microsoft made the move from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 many games did not like the transition to needing a Hardware abstraction layer.

This package includes the NVIDIA Display Driver version 296.17 for Windows 8 Consumer Preview x64. The drivers were spotted on the Windows Updates server. In the Device Manager, after the installation, the version will be updated to 9.18.12.9617. A list with the supported cards can be found within the .CAB file.
