A major driver of modern C/C++ development is the need for producing native 64-bit code. In most cases, servers and desktop systems are now almost exclusively 64-bit machines. Here's how to convert your 32 bit windows to 64 bit. For this demonstration we use Windows 8, but it will work on most versions of Windows without a problem. All you have to do is make sure your computer is compatible with 64 bit by checking in your computer settings as shown in the video, and then install Windows 64 bit over your existing operating system.
