MediaTek to Launch 64-bit Cortex-A53 Mobile Processors This Year

Start64!Chinese chip maker MediaTek will bring to the market some of the first mobile processors out there to be based on the 64-bit Cortex-A53 from ARM, leaked info that emerged on the matter on Monday unveils.

Apparently, the company is working on two different chipsets based on Cortex-A53, including a quad-core one, and an octa-core SoC.

Dubbed MT6732 and MT6752, respectively, these chips are expected to arrive on the market with support for WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, GSM, FDD-LTE, and TD-LTE networks, it seems.
