A new resource available as a free download from Microsoft is designed to streamline the migration from older versions of Project Server to the latest iteration of the product. The “Project Server 2010 Upgrade Paths” guide is currently available through the Microsoft Download Center, offering customers a document describing the options at their disposal when upgrading from Project Server 2003 or 2007 to Project Server 2010.

Customers that will download the “Project Server 2010 Upgrade Paths” will essentially get a poster which will guide them through making the jump from any of the two predecessors of Project Server 2010 to the latest release offered by Microsoft.

“Project Server 2010 is a 64-bit application and can only run on a Windows Server 2008 64-bit or a Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit operating system. You must have hardware that supports the use of a 64-bit operating system. If you are planning an in place upgrade, your Project Server 2007 installation must be running on either of these two 64-bit operating systems,” the software giant explained.
