Running (or crashing) Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP x64
« on: November 03, 2009, 21:23:41 »

Hi 64-bitters,

I did a search on the forum to find any past topics but didn't see any that fit the bill, so here goes:

I'm a professional user of the Adobe CS3 (Production Premium:  Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, etc.).
I'm running a Tristar Box with an Intel Core2 Duo,  XPx64 SP2, with an NVidia Quadro FX3700 video card.

I can't get Photoshop to run on this machine.  It starts up, but crashes every time I open a file.
The other programs (Illustrator, AfterEffects) run just fine.

I realize Adobe hasn't released Photoshop for x64 XP (only Vista x64)...but that doesn't help me much.
Does anybody know of a work-around?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

You could try running it in a virtual machine under xp 32bit

I run CS4 on my computer and the program even recognizes that it is a 64 bit system.  It appears on my pinned menu as:
Adobe CS4 Photoshop
(64 Bit)
Wonder if the version is the difference. ???

Hi,
I'm running the same Abobe products is you & don't have any problems.
Perhaps you should try re-installing it?
